Formerly the Nolan Ryan Center
Formerly, the memorial to Nolan Ryan was a museum on the campus of Alvin Community College. It was called the Nolan Ryan Center. Later this exhibit/museum closed and the memorabilia was moved to The Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco in 2016. Shortly after that, the Alvin City Council voted to expand exhibit space at the Alvin Historical Museum to house all the memorabilia. Hometown of the Famous Player
Most people know that Nolan Ryan’s family moved to Alvin, Texas when he was only 6-weeks old. Ryan always considered Alvin his hometown, and the people of Alvin consider him their own hero. His pitches were consistently clocked at over 100 miles an hour and he remains the all-time leader in no-hitters.
