Alvin Historical Museum in Alvin, TX

Permanent Exhibits

Money 

One permanent exhibit that is very popular is the historical money exhibit.  It’s fun to see the colorful coins minted by the old Republic of Texas.  They even have a bond signed by Santa Ana, who was famous for resisting Spain’s attempt to reconquer Mexico in 1829. 

Temporary Exhibits

The Alvin Historical Museum has also had some fascinating temporary exhibits lately.  When you go you never know what you might see. One person exhibited his collection of Indiana Jones memorabilia. Another gentleman displayed his antique wrench collection.

Being so near Houston, many people in Alvin are connected with the space program.  The museum has had several displays of NASA equipment and memorabilia.  A local artist put on an exhibit of hand-built clay figurines depicting early native tribes and early settlers.
